The sizing for this hat was so far off there was no way to order a replacement with any confidence it would fit. I have other hats by this maker that are true to the size mark but not this one. You really have to try this on before you buy it.
I needed a larger size and requested to be notified when it was available. That was a LONG time ago, so I have to assume either it never became available or the company lost the request. It seems like it would have been a good hat, but it was only on my head for 30 seconds so I really cannot be certain.

Feels Too Small

I have two of these already and they are well made, durable and protect your head very well for about half the year when working or playing outdoors. My hats get a workout and these stand up to it. It's comfortable, reasonably water resistant (you can improve upon that on your own) has an optimum brim size, enough room in the crown and can be squashed, ruffed up and sat upon without messing it up. Sizing is INCONSISTENT from one year to the next. Being oversized or undersized is one thing but you can't guess at what it will be and the sizing on this last one is at least a size over. If you get lucky, it's a great hat but this last one is going back. I would recommend it to a friend if I thought they could size them at least consistently with their own standard but the best hat in the world is no good if it doesn't fit you. I'd give it to someone else but don't know anyone with a head that big.
I was looking for a good-looking, inexpensive hat for casual wear and this one looked like it would work for that. I have already worn it to a Bob Dylan concert, and I plan to buy another in the olive color. The brim suffered a bit in shipping but after wearing it in the rain and letting it dry, it now looks as it should.
