I have bought and worn these socks for years. As family members (young and old) have tried them, they also have become hooked on them. They are so comfortable, warm, soft, as only real wool can be. They really hug your foot and give you that "aahhhhh" feeling as soon as you put them on. I had trouble finding them at one point, and I was worried that they were being phased out. Whew! So glad they're still available. They're not cheap, but then, you get what you pay for.
I support a better environment, but I go back farther, I'm a conservationist; an amateur landscape photographer; I like being out in the woods (yes, even in the rain). And like the world's most interesting man, I don't drink beer that often, but when I do, my friends, I make sure I'm wearing these socks. You may not see me waiting to order at the bar, but I get to wear green tweed and that makes women very, very curious, my friend. Walk well where you go.

These are without a doubt the most comfortable and warm socks I've ever owned - perfect for our chilly and wet winters, but also great for walks any time of the year without the chaffing from the woven cotton socks I used to wear. My ONLY complaint (and why I didn't give them 4 stars) is that although the manufacturer doesn't include latex in what the socks are made of, I fear it's lurking in there as after a few days of wearing them I get foot eczema.
I wear the socks for work and casual and have for 16 years. Merino wool is not "scratchy" and does not retain odors. Great "wicking" properties to keep feet dry, warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer. The available colors are compatible with any wardrobe scheme.
My only complaint is Wigwam appears to be changing the Lite Hiker or discontinuing it. MISTAKE!
