As a San Francisco-based designer, she draws her inspiration from the natural beauty of California: the breathtaking coastline, the wildflower fields of Sonoma, the varying light over the San Francisco Bay. With these in mind, the Eileen West studio creates hundreds of original prints by hand each year, which lends a painterly touch to a finished fabric. Eileen West sleepwear has long been celebrated for its use of luxurious and comfortable fabrics, ranging from the sleek drape of modal to the natural, featherlight feel of 100% cotton. In 2005, Eileen West received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Intimate Apparel Industry’s annual Femmy Gala. After more than 30 years in the business, she continues to seek perfection in the fine details of every creation, from the heirloom lace of a couture gown to the silk trim of a white pillowcase.
